Panda Bear partage un nouveau single, "Ferry Lady"

Panda Bear fait son retour avec le single "Ferry Lady", un avant-goût de son prochain album Sinister Grift, prévu pour le 28 février chez Domino. Ce morceau est accompagné d’un clip réalisé par Danny Perez.
"Ferry Lady" fait suite à "Defense", un titre marqué par la participation de Cindy Lee à la guitare. Salué par Pitchfork comme "une rencontre d’esprits inspirée et un aperçu exaltant du prochain album de Lennox".
Vingt ans après ses débuts en tant que batteur et chanteur masqué d'Animal Collective, Noah Lennox, alias Panda Bear, a su se réinventer à travers de multiples vies artistiques, explorant une grande variété de styles et contribuant à de nombreux enregistrements emblématiques. De ses albums solos cultes Person Pitch (2007) et Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper (2015), aux réussites d'Animal Collective avec Sung Tongs (2004) et Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009), sans oublier ses collaborations avec Daft Punk, Solange, Dean Blunt, Paramore et Jamie xx, son œuvre révèle une vision créative cohérente et émotionnellement marquante, qui a déjà influencé plusieurs générations d'artistes et de genres.
Avec Sinister Grift, son premier album solo en cinq ans, Noah Lennox propose une œuvre qui synthétise son parcours tout en marquant un tournant audacieux dans sa discographie. Si ses précédents albums oscillaient entre des explorations poignantes du deuil et des fresques électroniques éclatantes, sa musique n’a jamais semblé aussi chaleureuse et immédiate. Depuis son studio à Lisbonne, au Portugal, il a collaboré avec Josh "Deakin" Dibb, membre d’Animal Collective, pour réimaginer Panda Bear en une sorte de groupe de rock à l’ancienne, jouant lui-même la majorité des instruments. Il s’est également entouré d’artistes proches de son univers, comme Cindy Lee, Rivka Ravede de Spirit of the Beehive, et, pour la première fois sur un album solo de Panda Bear, chacun des membres d’Animal Collective.

While his solo records have ranged from starkly intimate expressions of grief to colorful, electronic opuses, his music has never before sounded so warm and immediate. Working in his Lisbon, Portugal home studio with Animal Collective bandmate Josh “Deakin” Dibb, Lennox transforms Panda Bear into something resembling an old-school rock ensemble, playing nearly all the instruments himself and inviting kindred spirits into the process such as Cindy Lee, Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede, and—for the first time on a Panda Bear solo album—each of his Animal Collective bandmates.
